I have already had braces to correct the lack of width in my smile but unfortunately my teeth have moved back (mostly the canines) to be more "tipped in" rather than full and broad. Rather than trying braces again I was wondering if getting veneers just on my canines could correct this issue so that the teeth look more straight up and down instead of slanted in and thereby broadening the appearance of my smile?
Answer: Would #veneers help ... #RealSelf100 #DrSarahThompson Hello there,Looking at your smile, veneers may help you some by putting them on your canines only, but you would achieve a much better look by putting veneers on TEN of your top teeth. This means starting with the two teeth behind your canine on each side, then all the teeth from canine to canine. This would actually make a huge difference in enhancing your smile. I just had a patient last week that had the same issue. She opted to get porcelain veneers from canine to canine, then I did chair side composite veneers on the two teeth behind each canine to fit her budget. Good luck and I hope this info helps you. Answer: Broader Smile You are certainly a candidate for veneers and an experienced cosmetic dentist should be able widen your smile if you did enough teeth. It would likely take between 8-10 veneers to give you a broader, aesthetically improved smile. Should be a dramatic result in the end. Good luck.

Answer: Would getting veneers on my canon teeth help broaden my smile? Veneers on your upper right bicuspids would probably give you the best results. Have a doctor do a composite mock up that you can wear for a few days to make sure it gives the results you want before moving to ceramics.Ira L Shapira DDSDiplomat, American Board of Dental Sleep MedicineDiplomat, American Academy of Pain ManagementFellow & Regent, International College of CranioMandibular OrthopedicsChair, American Alliance of TMD Organizations

Answer: Veneers to make the smile wider So, you have a great smile already. The teeth are tipped inside slightly but it still looks good. However, since this is something that bothers you, veneers would be a great option to widen your smile and make it broader.Doing veneers on only the canines might not work though as the teeth behind it would start to look even more tipped/inside after the canine teeth are brought out. I would recommend you to visit a cosmetic dentist to get a mock up done and then decide how many teeth you want veneered to get the desired smile.Best of luck!!

Answer: Would Veneers Broaden My Smile? From your questions, it sounds like you feel that the canines are tipped in and building these outward will give you the look that you want. If you are happy with your four front teeth, porcelain veneers on the canines may give you the result you are looking for. My advice would be to go see a dentist and have them do a mock up using a resin composite material so that you can get an idea of how it will affect your smile. If they apply it only to the canines and it gives you the result that you want, then you can move forward with the veneers on the canines. Sometimes the teeth behind the canines may be also inward, or they may appear more inward after the mock up or veneer is place on the canines. If this is the case, you may want to consider having veneers placed on 1 or 2 teeth behind the canines. This can often give a dramatic, wider smile. Best of luck!
