Botoxwill start to take effect in 3-5 days and will take approximately 7-10 days before seeing thefull effect. Botox helps soften wrinkles, lines and lasts about 3-4 months. This should be donein the hands of a Board Certified Plastic surgeon or Dermatologist withsignificant Expertise in injecting Botox in the right places to get optimal results.
Hello, Thank you for your question.Botox usually takes 2 or 3 days to start to work, and will continue to improve over the first 7 to 10 days. The improvement will last up to 6 months. Once the effect starts to wear off, you will need a repeat treatment to continue the anti-wrinkle result. Some find that the effects last longer after having multiple treatments, even up to a year. Some factors that can effect the duration of your results can be the amount which was initially administered by your injector, your metabolism, as well as the frequency of your treatments. Discuss what has worked well for you with your injector. Take care.
This is a good question and there are many factors involved. I recently wrote an article on the mechanism of Botox and why it works differently. Furthermore, people who use it longer tend to notice different effects than those who just started using it. I posted a link below that may help.Dr James P. Bonaparte, MD, MSc, FRCSCFacial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgeon
There are several factors that contribute to result longevity, but I’m unaware of any medical research that points to a specific gene that directly affects this. Some factors that I am aware of that influence longevity include the following:frequency of treatment - the more treatments that have been performed in a patient’s experience, the longer results last with every subsequent treatment the amount administered - the number of units should be accurately administered for the patient your metabolism - the faster your metabolism, the faster your results may fade
Thank you for your question. I believe the greatest determinant of how long Botox works, is the dosing that is used and injecting it into the correct target muscle. There are some injection points were you purposely do not want a full correction, as it may cause undesirable effects. Examples include the forehead lines where causing too much of a correction may result in brow heaviness. I tend to use higher doses in areas where there is more muscle mass. I would recommend that you visit with a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist in your area who can discuss your specific concerns.
Several things determine Botox duration. The most important is dose used versus strength of muscle. Some people also produce new nerve function faster. Dr Rodger ShorttOakville Plastic SurgeonDirector of Cosmetic Surgery Training &Assistant Clinical Professor,McMaster University
The duration of Botox effects depends on many things - younger patients last longer, higher injection number last longer, the injection locations, the reconstitution of Botox, it needs to be REAL Botox and not something else and the experience and expertise of the doctor doing the injections.Different patients need different injection paints to achieve best results.I hope that helps and best regards, Dr. Sapijaszko.
I have not noticed any genetic connection in terms of how long Botox lasts for my patients. I can say that when patients schedule their first 3-4 Botox appointments consistently at the 3-4 month mark, their subsequent Botox treatment results tend to last longer. Best, Dr. Nazarian
Great question! The difference results in how quickly someone grows back the nerve endings that Botox blocks. Differences in this rate of healing are what account for the differences in length of efficacy between people. There probably is a genetic basis but as far as I know no one has actually found a gene responsible.
Thanks for sharing your question. The best prevention for facial animation wrinkles is the useof botox independently of your age. The procedure is 100 % harmless in thehands of expert injectors. Ideally it should be done as soon as the muscle starts recovering movement. The earlier is done, the longer the new treatment will last.Remember if you don’t use the muscle, you loose it. This is desirable for theface.Make sure to have an evaluation by a board certified plasticsurgeon or dermatologist.Best wishes
Botox in the glabella area should have no effect on your cataract surgery. Botox is being injected into the glabella area and the surgery is inside the eye. Best, Dr. Green
Botox carefully placed around the Crow's feet works nicely in reducing the lines around the eyes. However, Botox injected under the lash line can cause this droop. Do not inject Botox in this area in the future. It will wear off over the next weeks. Best, Dr. Green
Hello, Thank you for your question. Should you be a candidate for this treatment, your jawline can be gently reshaped to make it less angular and prominent, narrowing the contour of your lower face to create a more feminine appearance. The Botox, injected in both sides of the jaw,...
