Healing wound after punch biopsy dark; will it fade? (photos)

I was wondering about the appearance of my wound following punch biopsy (which required second round of suture after wound reopened upon removal of suture after 7 days. Second sutures left in for further 17 days). The skin where stitches laid are very irritated and healing (have been told red and inflamed but no infection). And the hole (horizontal line/scar) where mole was removed is closed (thank goodness) but appears very dark purple almost black. Is this normal? Will this fade in time?
