Dark circles and deep eye bags after Botox injection 2 weeks ago, is this normal?

i had botox injected 2 weeks ago just above the brown in order to reduce frowning habits i didn't have any in the glabella yet. i noticed dark circles & deep eye bags. I need to go back & get the glabella area injected with 4 units, will it make my eyes droopy or eyebrows more lifted than they already are? are eye bags normal when getting botox done?

Thank you for your question.  Botox cosmetic that is properly placed will not cause eye droop and eye bags.  My advice is to follow-up with your injector and discuss a comprehensive treatment plan.  Dark circles or hollowing under the eye may be corrected with filler.  Best of luck.

It is not normal to have dark circles and deep eye bags after Botox injection if it was strategically injected. You should not get droopy eyes or lifter eyebrows either if the injection is done right. I advise you to express your concerns to your provider. Good luck!

Thanks for the question.  Botox should not make dark circles appear.  If injected in the brow, it also should not make the under eyes have "bags".  Doing the glabella injection shouldn't have any effect as well.  Other things can make dark circles such as dehydration, allergies or lack of sleep.  Wait a few weeks and see if they resolve.

If Botox is administered correctly, eyebags are not a normal result. If you have a lax lower eyelid that is not recognized and this area is given Botox, the bags can occur. The normal lymphatic pumping mechanism of the lower lid is disrupted and swelling can occur beneath the eye. This will unfortunately take a few months to recover, as the Botox wears off.

Botox should be injected superficially for the crows feet around the eyes.  these injections should not result in any dark circles or bags.

This would be considered unusual because Botox should not have that effect and the areas it has been injected to are not near your undereyes. Too much or misplacement of Botox can cause a brow drop, but not undereye bags.
