Is it ok to do chemical peeling for the Bikini Area ? (photo)

Question

In my second LHR session for the bikini area the lower area darkened. Time passed and it started getting lighter and lighter. I wanted to try hydroquinone for the area but I stopped after 3 applications. Now that the area is way better and lighter I went back to continue my LHR and the color didn't change. I want to avoid getting burned by lightening the area, is chemical peeling a good option ? What do you recommend and are the results guaranteed or it depends on my skin ?

Hyperpigmentation of the skin can improve with HQ and non-HQ skin lighteners. I would suggest Melarase AM and Melarase PM creams used twice daily before and after your bikini laser. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Thanks for your question. Hydroquinone is the gold standard for pretreating an area before laser treatments. If you are having sensitivity to it you may try creams containing Kojic or Azelaic acids. Best wishes.

There is no reason you couldn't do chemcial peels in the bikini area, but they would probably not be my first choice due to the sensitivity of the skin there.  Bleaching creams would likely be the best option.  There are other options if hydroquinone is too irritating. If they are too irritating, you don't have to use them every day.
