I had a fibrous papule on the tip of my nose excised by a plastic surgeon. The stitches opened during initial healing, and caused a deep noticeable scar. I revisited the plastic surgeon, who "did not like the look of the scar". His proposed solution is to "redo it", that is to reopen the area and stitch it closed to minimize scarring. Is this truly my only option? Thank you!
