filler? is there a more permeant option? im not sure why they just appeared in the last few years. Is there anything I can do to smooth out the skin on my chin?

Answer: Dimple treatments For dimples of various types, botox and/or filler can be quite helpful usually. I like to use a graduated approach, always trying for the simplest approach first. Surgery for this area will undoubtedly cause scar tissue to form and unfortunately, there is no way to predict for sure how that will turn out. For patients in the office with dimples such as this around the lower mouth and chin area, I generally like to start with botox first, and then see if filler is needed. If you decide to do botox or filler for these, make sure to see a certified facial plastic surgeon or general plastic surgeon that specialized in the face, as these areas can be difficult to treat well.
