Why did my nipple change color after surgery?

I recently had a lump removed from my breast. The lump was benign,but i have had some odd things happen during the recovery. I have had a tight vein underneath the skin and today i woke and my nipple was a different color and hard. I would like to know what the cause of this could be.

Itching is fairly common along the incision in the convalescent phase. From the redness of the incisions picture active inflammation is present. Don't scratch the skin. This trauma will aggravate the situation by the release of histamine. Ice packs are cool compresses for symptomatology will help.

The incisions for breast reduction are fairly long. Minor wound healing issues are occasionally seen but almost always eventuate in a good result with proper one care. Specific problems should be addressed to the plastic surgeon.

No one can give you a specific risk for loss of the areola. Breast measurements factor in as do other medical conditions such as diabetes. Patients who smoke Have greater risk. Previous pregnancies make a difference as well.
