I have quite a few dark sun spots around my eyes and lower cheek. My dermatologist did some cryotherapy but it didn't work that well would you recommend laser or a peel instead.
Answer: Clear and Brilliant combined with a chemical peel can help lighten dark spots Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Dark spots The location and type of the brown spots will help guide the most appropriate treatment. For sun related brown spots on the face I recommend laser treatments such as the Fraxel 1927 laser or an intense pulsed light treatment, which is a light source treatment. Both do a nice job in lightening the brown spots. Chemical peels and daily sunscreen use are very beneficial to maintain the results of the laser treatments and to prevent new lesions from developing. Please consult a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon experienced in laser treatments. Best wishes.

Answer: Cryotherapy for brown spots, what next? Cryotherapy is an excellent treatment for various types of dark spots. Sometimes more than 1 treatment is required, and other times more patience is required to see the dark spots fade. After a liquid nitrogen treatment, once everything has truly healed, you could then consider bleaching/fading creams, chemical peels, or even laser. Your dermatologist is the best skin expert to guide you on this.
