Answer: Ptosis Thank you for sharing your question and photo. When performed by an experienced Oculoplastic Surgeon, ptosis repair is usually quite easy and quick for the patient. Daily use of certain eyedrops can raise the eyelids, but your intraocular pressure needs to be monitored. Good luck,

Answer: Drops will not be effective for this. Many of the drops that raise the eyelid for about an hour also dilated the pupil. The drops are simply not effective enough to be relied on for this purpose.

Answer: Ideal affective treatment of ptosis is by surgery Thank you for your photo – it demonstrates substantial drooping (ptosis close princess of your left upper eyelid. While it is true that some over-the-counter drops like Visine or other prescription drops can help with mild amount of ptosis, the effects are temporary and do have side effects especially over the long-term. The amount of correction to be expected from drops is very small, and your problem is substantially more than what would be temporarily helped by drops. Ptosis surgery, when performed by an experienced eyelid surgeon, can be an easy, less than 10 minute, no visible incision procedure that would permanently and effectively treat your ptosis. Trying to get a few consultations in your area, so that you can learn more and understand your options. Good luck !

Answer: Eyedrops for Ptosis Thank you for your question. It is true that eyedrops can be used to treat ptosis but they work best for ptosis caused by the injection of neuromodulators such as Botox. The eyedrops need to be used multiple times a day and have several side effects (e.g., redness, burning, irritation, itching, changes in intraocular pressure, changes in size of the pupil). For these reasons, surgical repair of ptosis remains the treatment of choice.
