Does ThermiSmooth eventually cause dents?

I have been performing ThermiSmooth for three years and prior to that my patients underwent Pelleve. Both are externally delivered radiofrequency treatments for skin tightening. I have never had a patient complain about fat atrophy and would be surprised to see that because the temperature of the skin rarely gets hotter than 43 degrees centigrade on the surface ( the temperature that helps the dermis of the skin produce more collagen). The temperature deeper to the skin in the fat would be less hot because the energy does not penetrate that deeply. Fat requires temperatures around 70 degrees Centigrade to dissolve.I have seen gentle lifting of saggy upper eyelids and facial tightening in patients from the mid 30s to early 50s provided their sun damage is not excessive.The information provided in Dr. Shelton's

I would agree with Dr. Shelton in that the device has been in use for several years.  And during that time, it has not been associated with localized dents, etc as you suggest.  I have personally been using the device for about 8 months with very happy patients and did not bring it into my practice until I had thoroughly researched results, etc.  As for the temperatures used, we actually heat our patients to anywhere from 45 to 47 degrees celsius and, to date, have seen no burns or other localized complications.I hope that helps.  Give us a ring if you'd like to learn more.
