I have been getting microneedling treatments using the Rejuvapen at a medical spa. The aesthetician used a depth of only about 1.4mm for my first four sessions and went deeper at 2mm for my past two sessions and will continue at 2mm. I've seen some results but not nearly enough as I thought I should. My scars aren't that bad or deep. Is this possibly because I should be using a better device? Is there a real difference between the results based on the pen used?
Answer: Rejuvapen/Eclipse pen Thank you for your question about micronpen treatments. Microneedling is a great method to treat a myriad of things with little downtime. It generally takes several treatments to see improvements in fine lines or acne scarring. The addition of growth factors will often amplify the result. In addition, adding PRP (platelet rich plasma) can improve the results even more. This is the procedure of drawing your own blood, spinning it down to extract the PRP, and needling it into the skin. As for the device used....Rejuvapen vs. Eclipse pen....is probably not going to impact your results. Depth of needling and the amount of needles on the head of the pen are factors that can make an impact, in addition to the growth factor/PRP. To be sure, see two or more experienced, licensed and board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Answer: Rejuvapen for Microneedling Thank you for your question. Based on the information you provided, I would recommend that your aesthetician use a deeper setting. Combining micro needling with PRP, platelet-rich plasma, may enhance your results. You may also benefit from fractional laser (Fraxel) treatments. I hope this information is helpful.

Answer: Microneedling devices Thanks for your question. Most of the microneedling devices are quite similar, and you will want to discuss your concerns with your aesthetician and dermatologist. If you feel you aren't getting adequate results, you might want to consider laser resurfacing. The choices of laser are variable, and again, please get an experienced professional's opinion, as some lasers are not the best for darker skin types. We are happy with Rejuvapen, and always use a strong topical anesthetic so we can be as aggressive with the treatment as needed in each patient's case. Hope you have beautiful results!

Answer: Rejuvapen vs Eclipse Hi There is a difference between the two! Rejuvapen has voltage usage that has consistent power , Eclipse uses a charged battery to operate. You will have consistent power with the rejuvapen. Also the needles formation and number of needles. I have used a few different microneedling devices and rejuvapen is a great choice to stick with. If you want more out of your treatment, request for the nurse or doctor that you’ve been going to if they can be a little more aggressive? Best of wishes to you .

Answer: Which pen is better? Hi,The microneedling pens all work very much the same. I would recommend asking if they can go deeper on a subsequent treatment. For deeper treatments, we often add local anesthetic for pain control.Warmly,Dr. Liu
