Hi! I had a bilateral mastectomy with expanders 3 weeks ago. I have developed red bumps on my incisions and a rash on both breasts. No fever is present. Do not see plastic surgeon for a week, and wondering if I should try to see him sooner. Getting scared :( Thank you for your advice.

Most commonly the nerve related sensation loss is temporary and the sensation will return overtime. This takes months at times and rarely it will be a permanent loss of sensation. I hope this helps and good luck.
Although implant reconstruction is a popular option, its sometimes not the best option. This is particularly true in your case. The tissue expanders look uncomfortable and displaced. The better option for your breasts would be to reconstruct your breasts using your own fatty tissue....
The implants do look different in a breast reconstruction patient as your native breast tissue is gone. I always will offer fat grafting to my implant reconstruction patients as that can help give a more natural and fuller look. Best wishes!
