I am almost done with chemo and am looking forward to completing my reconstruction within a few months. I have 375cc Mentor expanders in that are over expanded to 425cc. They were teardrop shaped and twisted so I have been dealing with lopsided rock hard boobs for a few months now. I am 5'5" and 145 lbs. I am not happy with how far apart on my chest they are. What size and texture should I consider for the most natural results?
Answer: Second stage implant reconstruction My surgical plan would be 1. Lateral breast capsulorraphy2. Medial pocket capsulectomy 3. Placement of the highly cohesive round inspira implants (scx)4. Fat grafting around the implants to softer the transition. Good luck!!

Answer: Implant texture and size for reconstruction You will likely see and significant improvement as you transition to implants. Round implants are likely to give you improved upper pole fullness and cleavage. Additionally, using a textured implant may help delay the implants from descending with time as you are hoping to achieve fuller breasts, and therefore will need/want a larger implant. An in person exam is always preferable to give this type of advice, but hopefully this gives you some food for thought. Best of luck.

Answer: What size and texture should I consider for the most natural results? Thank you for your question and for the photographs. Round, classic profile implants will give you a more narrow cleavage than a tear-drop style because they have the widest diameter. With round implants you do not have to worry about them twisting. Your plastic surgeon will help you make the right choice to give you the best aesthetic result. I hope your recovery goes well.

Answer: Breast reconstruction You would need to be seen in person to determine what implants are best for you. This is dependent upon your anatomy and goals.

Answer: Implant reconstruction Although implant reconstruction is a popular option, its sometimes not the best option. This is particularly true in your case. The tissue expanders look uncomfortable and displaced. The better option for your breasts would be to reconstruct your breasts using your own fatty tissue. This comes in the form of perforator flaps (DIEP, PAP or GAP, or a combination of some of these flaps). It lends it self to a permanent and natural reconstruction with high satisfaction ratings by patients. Good Luck and I hope this helps. Ali Sadeghi MD FACS
