Does deprojection of the nose make it appear wider from the front view, or not necessarily? I had a consultation with a surgeon who told me that he would deproject my nose as well as remove the dorsal hump. He said that he would try to preserve my front view, but that it could end up 1-2 mm wider.
Answer: Nasal tip deprojection DOES lead to alar base widening, but... Depending on your condition, nostril narrowing may be performed to reduce the flare of your nostrils after deprojection. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Answer: When deprojection of the nose is performed, it can change the appearance of the nose in several ways: Deprojection of the nose can be accomplished by removing some of the bone and cartilage from the tip of the nose or by reshaping the underlying framework of the nose. When deprojection of the nose is performed, it can change the appearance of the nose in several ways:Shorter nose: Deprojection of the nose results in a shorter, more compact nose that appears less prominent in the front view.Altered tip shape: The tip of the nose may be reshaped or repositioned to create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance and reduce the length of the nose.Improved symmetry: Deprojection of the nose can improve the overall symmetry of the nose and create a more harmonious balance between the nose and other facial features.Better nasal function: By reducing the length of the nose, deprojection of the nose can also improve nasal function, such as breathing, by reducing the size of any obstructions in the nasal passages. It is important to note that deprojection of the nose is a complex surgical procedure that requires precise techniques and a good understanding of anatomy and the aesthetic balance of the face. It is important to consult with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to determine if deprojection of the nose is appropriate for you and to discuss the expected outcomes and potential risks and complications associated with the procedure. Answer: Deprojection of the nose That is very complex procedure which involves several maneuvers, probably one of most deminding in nose surgery. It would be very hard to tell you, without in person consultation, what would be a final result in a frontal view; most significant change is visible on profile view. Hope this helps.

Answer: Effect of deprojecting The nose on the front view: Effect of deprojecting The nose on the front view: deprojecting the nose usually involves primarily the bridge and tip. when the bridge is deprojected ,this is done by removing the hump. This makes the nose appear wider at the moment. However the nasal bones are there infractured to narrow the bridge, in which case it may then be about the same as before or even narrower. when the tip is deprojected it will make the nostrils slightly wider. This will show in the front view . however if the nostrils are excessively wide a national tuck could then be performed to correct that.

Answer: How does de-projection of the nose change the front view A full set of facial and nasal photographs from all angles are required to make a determination about how best to proceed. It's important to know how much projection of your nose you currently have to determine how much gets de- projected. It also depends on what's causing the projection, is it nasal tip cartilages or the dorsal hump. As a general rule, the nose can be de-projected a few millimeters, but the more it gets deprojected you do get a bit of a flaring effect which is usually commentated by narrowing the nasal tip cartilages and the bridge line. It's important to understand that the nose is a three-dimensional structure, and surgery is performed at all three dimensions
