Answer: 5 Weeks Post-Op Swelling Hello, thank you for your question and provided photos, basem on them with 5 weeks post-op you are in your early healing process due to that process you have edema and swelling. Unevenness can come from swelling, and swelling can cause some irregulations. They will come and go down during your healing period. You need to complete your healing phase that takes at least one year long. Best of Luck, Regards,

Answer: 5-weeks Post-op results You have to give yourself some more healing time. Your nose and surrounding areas are going to be swollen for a while and you should be consulting the surgeon that performed the procedure. However, give yourself some time before going back in so some of it can subside. It can take up to a year for final results. Sincerely, Philip J. Answer: Uneven nostrils after revision rhinoplasty I can see the asymmetry of the nostrils you are concerned about. You are very early in your recovery period but I don't think swelling can be blamed for this asymmetry. This looks more like asymmetry of the length and shape of the lower lateral cartilages. The swelling could certainly be accentuating the asymmetry but I don't think the nostrils will suddenly become symmetric once all of the swelling resolves. It's best to discuss this concern with your surgeon.

Answer: 5-Weeks Post Op. Hello and thank you for your question. From the photos, it appears that the nostril asymmetry will still be there once the swelling goes down. Swelling can cause irregularities during the healing phase; however, it probably won't go down enough to improve to your desired symmetry. Around 50% of the swelling may have gone down at this point but it will take over a year for the remaining swelling to go down after a revision. You are unable to undergo another revision at least until one year after the last surgery. I recommend opening a line of communication with your surgeon expressing your concerns. Best, Chester Griffiths, MD, FACS

Answer: 5 Weeks post op Rhinoplasty I see your concern. Your nostrils are uneven. It is early in the healing phase, but my guess is you may need a cartilage graft to correct the asymmetry.
