Getting Morpheus 8 under my eyes next week. Should I stop taking fish oil, multivitamins, and herbal supplements to avoid bruising just like with any regular injection? If so, how far in advanced? Is a few days before treatment ok to stop taking these? Or, is a week better? Should I start taking Bromine and arnica ahead of time? Also, does consuming collagen peptides every day help with healing? Thanks!
Answer: Morpheus8 prep hello and thank you for your question! I always recommend stopping fish oil, vitamin E, herbal supplements and any aspirin type products for one week prior to your treatment as these all contribute to possible bruising. I also advise my patients to not drink any alcohol prior to treatment and up to 24 hours before for the same reasons. Arnica and Bromelain will help with bruising and swelling, among other things, so I recommend taking those for at least one week before treatment. There is no harm in using collagen peptides. Research has shown that bioactive collagen peptides may actually improve the wound healing process. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: Laser Resurfacing and Skin tightening Options--Fraxel, Co2, lasers, microneedling/prp, sculptra, ultherapy, rf treatments It is generally recommended to start Arnica one week prior to treatment. For exact recommendations, I suggest speaking with your rendering provider for custom recommendations. Healing and moisturizing post procedure skincare products such as are vital for a great result (see link below for my recommended post procedure products). Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Preparing for Morpheus8 Hi there! I would recommend stopping herbal supplements and Omega 3 about a week prior if possible. You may have mild bleeding with the Morpheus8 treatment. However, bruising is less common. Arnica certainly helps with bruising and healing. Collagen peptides are marketed to help improve hair, skin, nails, joints and ligaments, and tendon health. I am not sure of their role in healing. However, I cannot find a contraindication to taking them that would negatively affect your Morpheus8 treatment. I hope this answers your questions. Cheers from Dallas!

Answer: Morpheus8 Preparation Hi there Bubbles556, Overall, there aren't many restrictions to what you should take. To be safe, avoid Aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications (i.e. Ibuprofen, Aleve), blood thinners, herbal supplements, Vitamin E, and Fish Oil for at least one week prior to and the day of microneedling to minimize bruising risk- you may restart these the day following your treatment. It may also be a good idea to stop any retinols, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide products 48 hours before your treatment. Sun exposure and/or usage of a tanning bed, including self-tanning products must be avoided for a minimum of 24 hours before and after the treatment, and preferably for up to 1-2 weeks to minimize the risk of post treatment temporary darkening or lightening of the skin. Best of luck to you, Dr. Eisenbrown.
