Angelina Jolie jaw/chin? What can I do to get something like that?

Question

I want to reduce my chin and have a more defined jawline like Angelina Jolie. What procedure would I need to do to achieve that, something that won't negatively affect me in the future. (i read somewhere that jaw implants can have a negative effect in the future.) I've read jaw augmentation would help too. I need a proffesional opinion :) i'll post pictures of my face in comparison with what I want.

Hello amibuns,Thanks for your question.The one picture of Angelina of just her face and neck tells the story.She has good volume and projection of her chin, but she also has a very strong angle of the jaw.Your pictures show a good chin but a higher angle to your jawline with some narrowness to the jawline shape.You would be a good candidate for silicone angle of the jaw implants to increase that square appearance.  However, the height of your jawline will not change.  You just have a greater upsweep to your jaw than she does.  This will be the limiting factor.All facial implants have negative effects on surrounding soft tissue and bone.  This is known as atrophy.There are other risks of implant surgery that your surgeon will discuss with you.I hope this helps answer your question?Good luck,Dr. Shah

To evaluate a person for a chin implant, a side profile photograph is required in addition to three-quarter and frontal views in the chin neutral position. Chin implants are manufactured in a variety of sizes and shapes, are composed of Silastic, and are inserted through submental approach under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. A full pictorial analysis is needed from various angles to better answer your question. But what fundamentally separates your jawline from your ideal goal is the jaw angle areas. Your ideal jawline has very wide, square and well defined jaw angles while you do not. You also have jaw angle asymmetry. This can only be improved by implants. Chin or jawline reduction is not going to achieve your jawline goal.
