I've gotten botox for years and this is the first time this has happened. It is getting better now that the botox is starting to wear off. Is there something I should do or share with the injector the next time? Perhaps wait longer, get less units or avoid the area between the brow? Thanks in advance.

Answer: Tearing after Botox This is a very rare side-effect and most likely due to injection technique--injecting too close to the tear duct. Discuss this with your physician and see if that can be avoided in the future

Answer: Excessive Tearing after Botox This is a very uncommon side effect of Botox and the possible mechanisms may be weakening of the lower lid or a disturbance in the draining of the tear ducts located at the inner corner of the eyelids. I would definitely alert your physician to this issue as it needs to be evaluated and perhaps the technique of injection needs to be adjusted during your next treatment. Best of Luck Dr Harrell
