Dental work after or before chin implant?

Having a chin implant in place would not affect any dental work that may need to be done in the future.  In most cases, the implant can be seen on a panoramic type of x-ray.  

A chin implant will not affect dental work and vice versa, but you don't want a lot of manipulation of your jaw right after implant placement as it could displace the implant with airway manipulation under anesthesia, etc.So either do the wisdom teeth first and let them heal or do the chin and wait 12 weeks to do the oral surgery.Silicone implants will not show up on the dental panorex, a medpor implant probably will.Joe Niamtu, III DMDCosmetic Facial SurgeryRichmond, Virginia

Basically, I don;t see any problem having both done together of if one or the other goes first. It may actually be best if you do both at the same time if your center or hospital is offering both procedures. This will minimize your time for recovery and one will not affect the other anyway.
