A physical exam to evaluate the size of the dent and quality of underlying tissue (i.e. normal vs scarred) is frankly necessary to determine the best option. In general, fat grafting may suffice for a relatively small defect without much scar tissue or an implant may be required to fill in a larger dent more reliably and permanently. Glad to help.
Dear Donnie, A picture will be very helpful in giving you the best recommendation. If it is a small dent, fat injection might be an option but you might need to have the procedure repeated 2-3 times so that the surviving fat and scar tissue from the injection trauma will fill in the defect. You have to accept the possibilty of total failure . Another option is silicone implant that will have to be shaped in the form of the dent like it is done with pectus excavatus ( depressed chest bone ). Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Although it is a little hard to tell what is may represent a vascular malformation v. traumatic tissue/scar hypertrophy from photos, I'd recommend a thorough review of your scans and possibly an additional study to focus on soft tissue such as an MRI. An MRI or CT study can be ordered as a CT...
If you have not met with a couple of board certified plastic surgeons, I would do this. This could be a couple of things, and an exam can help with the diagnosis.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
