I need help figuring out why one side of my butt cheek is growing large, visited many Dr's but no one seems to know?

Im 21 years old, about 6 years ago I was involved in an accident where i got hit on my left side by a jeep. I visited a hospital to find out i suffered a herniated disk on my very lower back. A few months later after that, i noticed my left butt cheek started growing looking like a whole lot of large lumps. Now the tricky part is that on that side of my booty, ive had a purple birthmark and it seems to only grow around that area. No doctor can figure out whats causing it. I need help!

Dear starey,  You say that you noticed the growth of you left butt cheek few months after the accident. This happend 6 years ago. Is it still growing or did is it stable ? Ask your internist to get a CT scan or an MRI to figure out the nature of the growth. The possibilities are few, among them - orgenized hematomas, chocolate cysts, calcified fat necrosis. Obviously, you have to rule out other things too. The above mentioned studies will be very informative and than you can consult with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. The abnormal growth may or may not be related to the accident or the birth mark.  The key to any problem is the right diagnosis.  I would suggest an ultrasound,CT scan, MRI, or MRangiogram-any or one of these may give you the answers you need.  Once you know what your dealing with, the correection should be obvious.

For the description you probablly have an hemangioma or arteriovenous fistula, or something similar sometimes a vein gets connected with an artery, having as a result that problem; but the best Idea is to have an MRI  and get a precise diagnosis
