Why is my incision leaking and open still after butt implants? (Photo)

So I just went to the e.r. because my incision is still draining 1 1/2 months post op for intramuscular implants. My wound has been open the whole time, doctor took sutures out because incision wasn't healing due to leaking. He says fluid should stop eventually, but I am noticing it is blood not fluid. The e.r. did ct scan and said theres air around the implants due to the open incision (2 in L x 1 in W) e.r. doc says this can cause infection and to remove implants. My doc says keep them in? ?

It may not be a bad idea to get an in person second opinion from another plastic surgeon buttock implant specialist. Photos and online consultation is not adequate for you at this point. Glad to help.

Seroma is a frequent problem following butt implant surgery. Judging from the information you provide, a suction /irrigation drain may be a good idea.I recommend to leave this for 5 days minimum.This is a good option to save an exposed buttock implant, as long as the seroma is under control.

this is not an expected outcome after buttock augmentation with implants.  It is possible these implants will need to be removed or you will require drains to be placed to salvage the implants.  See a surgeon who has alot of experience with buttock augmentation ASAP.Dr Del Vecchio
