I am post op day 8. My boobs are perfect and I love them. But. Day 3 I had a massive panick attack. I was rushed to er. Ruled out stroke, pe, infection and bleeding. Since day 3 I have had extreme anxiety and attacks. Haven't been able to work in a week because of panick attacks. Over what? I happy with everything. But apparently my body is not. I have been put on Ativan which helps but if it wears off even a little bit my body goes into panick mode. Help! Never had this before day 3 post op.

Answer: Anxiety This is unlikely to be linked to the breast augmentation but anyone that has underlying anxiety issues can see symptoms extenuated by the operative experience. You need to see your family doctor and get some psychological advice and be properly assessed.

Answer: Breast implants and panic attacks Sorry to hear about your panic attacks. Just about any major surgery you can think of has been associated with post-op panic attacks. So, the question is whether having surgery caused your panic attacks or if the implants are causing the panic attacks. Since implants are considered "biologically inert", it's probably not the implants. The list of what can cause a panic attack is as long as your arm. Trying to figure this out online would be impossible. Please discuss your symptoms with your PS. He or she may refer you to your primary doctor or specialist for further evaluation.
