Hi, I am a women of East Indian descent. I’m looking into getting a rhinoplasty. Im 44 years old I wanted to know what qualifications I need to look for in deciding upon a doctor. What certifications are good to have, etc. Also, what doctors are recommended that do Indian noses in the United States. Thanks

Answer: Rhinoplasty Both plastic surgeons and ear nose throat surgeons can do rhinoplasty. You need to find one who does a lot of noses including examples that were similar to yours. Fortunately the internet has helped patients figure out who dies many noses and good ones so you can narrow down the ones you’re interested in consulting

Answer: How to choose a Rhinoplasty surgeon? How to choose a Rhinoplasty surgeon? rhinoplasty has evolved into a Specialty unto itself. It is an extremely difficult operation, and takes a great deal of experience for a surgeon to get consistently good at it. In that sense it is unlike any other procedure in plastic surgery. You should choose a surgeon who specializes in, and only does nasal surgery. You should choose a surgeon who has done many many rhinoplasties. It probably takes over 1000 cases for a surgeon to get good at it, and even then there’s a learning curve. There are many Indian patients in America and many of them have rhinoplasty surgery. Look through the before and Afters of the surgeon you are considering to see if he has some Indian patients in the mix. I have done many Indian noses, and one thing I have found is that they have rather thin soft cartilage, which can be more difficult to work with than Caucasian noses. good luck in your search.
