Coughing will not ruin your results after having a tummy tuck. Make sure to stay in your abdominal binder at all times to protect the muscle plication that was performed during your operation. I would also recommend hugging a pillow against your tummy when you have to cough. This will also help to support theabdomen.
Early out of tummy tuck surgery, the concern with your description would be, the potential for disruption of sutures that are holding the abdominal wall muscles together in the midline. In general, it would take a significant amount of pressure to “tear" the muscle repair after tummy tuck surgery. This event would likely be associated with significant discomfort. A change in your physical examination, such as increased swelling, bleeding, a new onset "bulge" would also be likely.Generally speaking, abdominal wall muscle plication performed during tummy tuck surgery is quite secure; disruption is very unusual. You will be best off following up with your plastic surgeon who will be your best resource when it comes to accurate assessment, advice, and/or meaningful reassurance.Best wishes.

Dear jroo80, what you have could be a couple of different things but the good news is that it won't be much of a problem because it will resolve quickly. The most common thing is a retained or festered suture. Retained sutures in that location sometimes will fester especially if you...
I am not sure why you can't find a Board Certified Plastic surgeon in the tri-state area that is willing, capable, qualified, and competent to perform both a tummy tuck and a rhinoplasty during the same surgery. If your fat transfers are to your buttocks that may be the problem as you would need...
Thank you for your question. There is no way to get rid of extra skin without cutting it out. Technology for skin shrinkage or tightening has been disappointing thus far. You can remove excess skin with the same incision you use in a tummy tuck but without manipulating the...
Are certainly valid, especially if you keep having large volumes of fluid aspirated repeatedly. The wound itself should heal with conservative wound care but the seroma, if persistent, will require interventions to help it resolve and you must allow your surgeon to help you through this...
