Day 6 of VI Peel - Skin not peeling in sheets?

Question

Im on my 6th day of the VI Peel. My skin has peeled around the nose, chin, lower cheeks and jawline, but the upper cheeks, forehead and hairline are still tight, scab-like and definately not peeling in loose sheets like everyone says. I somehow feel that I am not peeling as quickly as I should. Is this normal? I wonder if it has to do with the fact that the aesthetician giving me a post-peel care kit that had only 1 towelette and not 2 like everyone says it should? Any feedback would be appreciated.

What you are experiencing seems normal. Everyone reacts differently to the treatment.  Some see lots of peeling, some not so much.  Peeling is usually seen on day 3 to 6.  You are still early on in the rejuvination process.  It is important to keep moisturizing as directed.  Do not peel sheets of skin that might peel off.  That all said, it is still OK to contact your board certified plastic surgeon's office to tell them your concerns, and make sure that you are following his/her directions.

Thanks for your question. Everybody reacts differently to the Vi peel. The good news is this particular peel works deeper in the dermis to undo damage so how much you peel is not an indicator of if it "worked" or not. The post kit contains 3-5 towelettes depending on which peel you receive. Vi and Vi Precision Peel come with 3 towelettes and the Vi Precision Plus comes with 5. Hope this helps.

Sometimes patients associate extent of peel with efficacy of therapy but this could not be further from the truth.
