The cut of the genioplasty is most often performed in a diagonal manner to avoid injury to the Mental nerve. It appears that you have a thin soft tissue pad. If that is the case, that makes the reduction genioplasty more predictable. A CT will be needed to confirm. In cases, with excessive soft tissue, there are treatment techniques to reduce the soft tissue pad.

There are generally 2 solutions to this problem. If the chin becomes ptotic with motion, you can try botox to diminish this movement. If the chin is long based on a CT scan, then the chin can be reduced in the vertical dimension and pore-positioned in the horizontal plane.
