My sutures look a bit sloppy to me compared to some other pictures I've seen of other tummy tucks should I complain about this to my surgeon or is too soon to tell. I have attached photos.
Answer: Sloppy Sutures Thanks for your question! I agree that at this point, it's way too early to judge how your incisional scar will look; I'm sure that it'll turn out just fine. A couple of points: I like to place my steri strips linearly, instead of transversely (which is how yours are placed), it hurts less to take them off! Also, ask for Biocorneum scar cream when your sutures come out. I think that it works on scars very well. Best of luck to you!

CONTACT NOW Answer: Tummy tuck scars Hello and congratulations on your surgery! Please be patient with the healing process, it is way too soon to determine how the scar will turn out. The wrinkling you see at the hips is fairly common with tummy tucks. Over time the skin typically will smooth out. Keep communication open with your surgeon so she or he is aware of your concerns. Good luck!Best wishes,Dr. Michelle Spring

Answer: Sutures look a bit sloppy to me. Should I complain? Hello,NO , you should not complain as you are much too early in the healing process. This look is entirely normal for now. As the greater majority of surgeons try to do their very best for their patients, you should discuss with your surgeon in a polite way your concerns about your incisions and give the man/woman a chance to explain before accusing anyone of doing a bad job.Dr. Christine Rodgers

Answer: Thoughts on my incisions at this point? It's really hard to tell how you are going to heal since you are so early following your surgery. At this early stage, it is common for pleating of your incision and so I would encourage you to be patient.I hope that helps and wish you the very best!-Gregory A Buford MD FACSBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Tummy Tuck Puckering and pleating is very common in many procedures. Excising excess skin, especially if it is a larger amount, frequently requires this technique to keep the scar shorter. Please don't go in complaining, have a discussion with your surgeon, its way to early to be angry. You will need to be patient and wait months for your final result. Good luck, Jane.
