Sore mouth and jaw, lips peeling after veneer prep

Question

I had my teeth prepped 3 days ago for veneers. The day after the procedure my bottom jaw and lip were extremely swollen and still swollen today. The dentist said he had to give me extra shots (I was sedated). Now the inside of my mouth is peeling and I have mouth ulcers. It's extremely sensitive and sore all over. Is this normal?

Sorry to hear that. Contact your dentist, he will prescribe you mouth rinses and possibly  creme to alleviate the sore lips and possibly ulcers. Due to impressions and possibly Iv sedation, that can happen, please call your dentist to see you for necessary medication.

Sorry youre having this problem..The extra shots would definitely cause your lip to remain sore for a few days...The lining mucosa inside your lip can be more delicate in some patients...Sometimes the mucosa can dry out, using cotton rolls to keep your lip away from preparations can cause this "drying out" which can cause the mucosa to peel or even form ulcers...This will go away.....with time..

There are rare occasions that mouth ulcers appear after dental treatment due to trauma and stress.  It’s best to rinse your mouth with Oral Essentials Original mouthwash.
