Finasteride can worsen hair loss for some in the first 4-7 weeks. For a small proportion of men the drug has no benefit, and hair simply gets worse because it would have proceeded to get wors anyways. Outright worsening of hair loss due to finasteride is not common but please see your prescriber if you are concerned.
I usually warn patients that they may get some shedding when they start finasteride, but long term, there is no evidence that taking finasteride can accelerate hair loss,Dr. Robert Jones
Thereis no reason why it would worsen your hair loss. Rogaine on the other hand cancause a temporary increase in hair loss in the first month or so. Propecia doesnot have this side effect.
Finasteride once a day has shown good results with regrowth in the crown area of the scalp. It takes 4-6 months to show significant results and you may still experience hair loss in other areas while you are taking the medicine but it is not known to cause hair loss itself. There are side effects associated with Propecia however including low risk of impotence and loss of libido. It also can be used in combination with topical treatments to enhance hair growth. Hope this answer is beneficial to you.
It can at first, but if you stick with it and take it daily it shouldn't accelerate loss past a month or so. It may be ineffective at preventing loss you would have regardless, but it is incredibly unlikely it will actively speed up your loss.
Intermittent use of finasteride or when initially commencing the therapy, will lead to transient hair loss. If taken intermittently, the hair loss will be intermittent . However if taken either topically or orally consistently, it serves as a good tool for preventative care although you have to be cognizant of the adverse effects of the oral route.
Although shedding is occasionally reported to happen initially when finasteride is started, I do not believe that finasteride can cause hair loss
In short, hair length should have nothing to do with the mechanism of action for Propecia (finasteride). Minoxidil's success rate is quite marginal to begin with all things considered, but it is my opinion as a physician and a former user of Minoxidil that as long as you massage it into...
Finasteride at 1mg daily shouldn't affect your bone density, but thorough evaluation and tracking by your physician is important.
Typically men & women lose up to100 hairs daily, although women tend to lose less over time. Check with a qualified physician to be sure other factors are not the cause.
It depends on your background, but it does sound a little below the average, but still within the realm of normal hair densities, especially if you just naturally don't have very dense hair.
As quoted from a google look-up "In the early 1990s, scientists in France synthesized a new topical anti-androgen called RU58841 (or RU-58841). This product was effective at tackling various androgen related disorders, including hair loss, acne and hirsutism". I have no experience with this to...
I recommend following up with your Cardiologist about minoxidil use. Prp and progesterone can be used to improve beard growth. See an expert in hair growth for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
