No bleeding after fraxel CO2 laser. Is this normal?

I had the procedure wed morning. I havd a level 3 skin tone and had no bleeding . today is Friday mrng and I'm basically the same past 2 days a brown color not red at all. did I get too light of a treatment ? the doctor said I wasn't supposed to bleed.

you do not have to bleed to have a good reaction to the co2 laser.  there are many types and it all depends on the type of laser used and the settings.  Please have faith in your physician and if you are concerned get a second opinion from a well trained laser cosmetic dermatologist.  Best, Dr. Emer.

There are different types of CO2 lasers and they can be used at different settings and reach different depths of the skin.  In most cases, there would not be any expected bleeding after a treatment.  It is difficult to comment on your particular treatment without seeing you and knowing the exact parameters of your treatment.

Hello,I wouldn't expect bleeding with this treatment.  It causes small brown dots of vaporized skin.  Occasionally, you can see some seepage of clear to yellow liquid.Dr. Malouf

It is certainly not necessary to bleed after a CO2 laser treatment.
The CO2 laser is an ablative laser of 10,600 nanometers, which can potentially
penetrate into the papillary dermis, all the way down to the reticular dermis,
depending upon which settings are used. Bleeding can start once penetration of
the papillary dermis begins.

However, depending upon where the blood vessels are located within
your dermis, you may or may not see punctate bleeding after your session. It is
definitely worth discussing with your board-certified dermatologist whether a
deeper session that evokes more bleeding is necessary for more improvement. However,
you will undoubtedly see results even though there was no visible bleeding after
the therapy.
