I'm 28 yrs old. I've got my first sculptra injection on cheeks and lower face 3 weeks ago. My lower face is obviously becomes puffy now , I was born with a heart shape face but now it changes me to a rectangle! I know once the sculptra works it may last years . But I wonder could I return to my original face shape after a while since I just take one injection? I'm worry about if my face would continue growing , How could I minimize the effects of Sculptra?
Answer: Robust Hyaluronic Acid Volumizing Fillers Work Well For Facial Shaping & Contouring & Can Be Dissolved If Necessary First, I am sorry you are experiencing this disappointment. I am no fan of Sculptra myself and in fact stopped using it several years ago. In general, Sculptra, which tends to be relatively expensive, requires between two and three, sometimes even four, treatment sessions spaced a few weeks apart to achieve its maximum effect. Since in this instance only three weeks have passed, it is possible that tissue edema related to the treatment is contributing to your problem. If this indeed is playing a part in your problem, the edema will likely diminish over the next few weeks. If the swelling does not, intralesional corticosteroid injections may be used. Going forward, I would suggest the use of robust hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Voluma XC and Restylane Lyft (my choices in my Upper East Side Manhattan office) and Stylage XXL, Hyaluronica 2, and Emervel Volume (my choices in my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved injectable volumizers are available). To achieve appropriate lift, shaping and contouring, volumizing fillers should be injected above and to the side (in order to achieve lift upward and pull outward), which should help to restore for you the more inverted triangle shape of the more youthful face. It is crucial that you thoroughly vet your aesthetic physician and be certain that you consult a board certified physician and also be certain to ask to see his/her before and after photos.Best of luck

Answer: After the first treatment of Sculptra, I hate the result Since you've only had one treatment, you should go back and meet with your surgeon to discuss options. You may want to continue the treatment or have the existing Sculptra dissolved.

Answer: Sculptra-- Sculptra takes about 3-4 months to start to take full affect and show results. If you are unhappy with the treatment; Venus Legacy and 5fu/steroid injections may help reverse the unwanted rectangular look. Using Sculptra in areas laterally and above to lift this rounded area to reshape it is also another technique I use. I suggest speaking with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: After the first treatment of Sculptra, I hate the result Hi Rachel,Sorry to hear about your concerns. The amount of volume change with Sculptra is directly proportional to the number of injection sessions that you have. Sculptra is a great facial rejuvenator when used properly and with natural artistic vision. I would re-evaluate your face in 3-6 months to restore your natural heart shaped face. Most importantly choose your injecting physician most carefully based on their skill, experience, and natural artistic vision. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
