Am I a good candidate for Blepharoplasty? (Photo)

Question

I am currently 29 years old. I have noticed some lower and upper eyelid exposure in my eyes. Obviously, I know no surgery comes without risk but wondering If given my eye area and age Blepharoplasty is a good option? If not, curious what other non-surgical methods could help here. Thank you.

What an important and valuable question you've posed! As we age and begin to lose collagen and elastin, one of the most noticeable areas to change are our eyelids. The skin around the eyes is much thinner than elsewhere on the face. Because of that, and thanks to gravity, genetics, and mechanical things like rubbing our eyes, laxity increases. While surgery is an option for some, there are several non-surgical options that our practice offers. Various radiofrequency-microneedling devices such as Morpheus8, SylfirmX, and Scarlet are great choices to improve skin strength and elasticity and provide a skin tightening effect over the course of a few treatments. Additionally, placing a bit of neurotoxin such as Botox into the muscles between the eyebrows and along the outside edges of the brows can help counteract the down-pulling effect of these muscles, thus lifting the brows to open up the eyes slightly. Either way, it is important to be evaluated by a trained professional to determine the degree of laxity and decide which option is right for you.
