Hi @alicew.798! This is a great question. I recommend waiting 2-4 weeks between these treatments. Best of luck to you!
Microdermabrasion is a mechanical form of exfoliating the skin. Once you have had a microdermabrasion treatment, the delivery of any topical skincare product will absorb more effectively. The wait time between microdermabrasion and microneedling treatment should be approximately a month. However, if you have had a HydraFacial, then my recommendation would be 2-4 weeks. A series of treatments would be recommended to assist with improvement of your acne scars. I would recommend a consultation to discuss the treatment guidelines, including a customized plan to achieve your desired results. If the scars are very deep, then likely a deep, surgical laser would be recommended, followed by (after healing) a specific program of skin care that can be provided by an aesthetician. --MaryAnna, BeautyWorksNYC
Great question. My best advice is to consult with your provider who knows your skin the best. Typically, it is safe to combine the two treatments together. The exfoliation from the microdermabrasion will give your skin an immediate brightening while the collagen boosting results from the microneedling will not be seen for a few weeks post treatment. However, if you are not able to combine the two together you could proceed with microneedling as soon as 3-5 days post microdermabrasion. Just note, no treatment will truly remove any type of scar. Surgical or non-surgical scar treatments are meant to soften or minimize the appearance of a scar. It is virtually impossible to get rid of or remove a scar.
I recommend waiting a minimum of 2-4 weeks between these services since they are more abrasive. We do not want to continue doing a lot of abrasive treatments back to back because it can cause a prolonged anti-inflammatory response. This can make you more red and puffy after your microneedling session.
Hello and thank you for your question. It depends on your skin. You can safely do a microneedling treatment 5-7 days after microdermabrasion. But, listen to your skin. If you are still feeling sensitive, then wait an additional week. Consider adding platelet rich plasma to your microneedling session to boost your result and improve healing! Hope this helps!
Thank you for your question! I would suggest waiting about a week before getting your microneedling done so that your face isn't super sensitive. Make sure you aren't getting medical grade microneedling during the summer because you run the risk of hyperpigmenting. Hope this helps!
Microdermabasion is minimally invasive and has very little "downtime". As long as your skin does not feel tender anymore, you should be okay to get Microneedling within the following two days. Confirm with your doctor to make sure that your skin is ready for Microneedling.
