I am a recently 40 year old that has been suffering from ridiculously large breasts my whole life. Having children made my issue much worse. I was 36 E or F before and I’m now wearing a 40 O because I cnt find anything bigger with a workable band. My BMI is 30 and not ideal. I suspect I have sleep apnea. Should I pursue surgery now or are the risks greater for someone like me that likely needs a lot taken out and has other issues? I’m considering weight loss surgeries or interventions as well.
Answer: Bellesoma Breast Reduction A BMI of 30 is acceptable for surgery. You will need medical clearance if you have sleep apnea. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast reduction Thanks for your question! With any surgery, there are risks. It is important to weigh the pro's and con's - often times with the advice of a doctor - to determine what is the best approach for you. Please consult with a surgeon in person to learn your options. Good luck!

Answer: First do weight loss surgery Hello shei2, Age is not a problem for any surgery of your concern. Some risk factor will be there for all surgeries. You have to weigh in the risk vs benefit and how much important it is to you. For your BMI, if you are considering weight loss surgeries, then better to avoid breast reduction now. After weight loss surgery or what we call bariatric surgery, you will lose fat and your body will change enormously leaving loose skin everywhere. At that point of time you will need breast reduction for sure. Consult a bariatric surgeon to know if you are a suitable candidate. If you are not undergoing bariatric surgery, then you can consider breast reduction. You seem to be disturbed a lot with the large breast. Do consult a board certified plastic surgeon for detailed examination and plan of surgery. Breast reduction makes a big difference especially if you have neck and back issues. Hope this helps. Thank you for your query here.

Answer: Breast reduction Dear shei2, breast reduction is best suited for women who wish to decrease the size of their breasts. While there are different techniques used to perform this surgery, I prefer the vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern, which reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. I also use a SAFE liposuction technique to reduce additional fat around the stubborn axilla area and bra line. This way, my patients are achieving beautiful results with minimal incisions which reduces downtime and delivers an overall better breast shape long term.If you are considering breast reduction surgery, you should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and make sure your surgeon understands your goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
