I'm a 46-year-old male who had gynecomastia surgery 2 years ago and have been dealing with hypersensitive nipples ever since. It hurts when I touch them and during cold temperatures. Is this common or should I be worried? Anything I can do to improve it?

Nipple hypersensitivity can happen after gynecomastia surgery, and can also happen after female breast reduction surgery.
From my experience, hypersensitivity was fairly common after breast reduction surgery, and it usually settle down 6 to 12 months after the procedure.
Have not had gynecomastia surgery outcomes complain of hypersensitivity, though it is certainly possible.
There may be desensitization protocols, potential medical treatment, while not well described possible surgical intervention to reduce hypersensitivity in this region, if warranted.
Perhaps some of the other providers will have greater insight.
There may be physical therapist, or occupational therapist, who have experience with desensitization exercises that may be of benefit.
