How long post op do I have to wait to use the scar strip bandages?

I suggest my patients to wait 4-6 weeks, when their incisions are fully healed, before starting scar therapy. However, please speak with your surgeon as he/she may have different post op protocols.Regards,

Hello, in my practice I suggest people leave on the steri-strips for 1-2 weeks then remove them once they are getting loose and can be removed without discomfort.  The scar gel can be started within a few days after the steri-strips are removed, provided there are no little scabs or draining areas.  I would recommend speaking to your surgeon because there is variation in scar protocols.

Your surgeon can give you the best answer to this question. I generally start scar treatments once any crusting of the wounds stops, usually around 3 weeks. 

Every PS will give different advice regarding the management of the scars and best to run this past your PS. Personally I tend to let everything settle for 6 weeks before recommending scar management. 

Congratulations on your breast augmentation.  Of course it is important to get specific advice from your plastic surgeon.  Generally speaking I would not start silicon tapes for at least 3-4 weeks after surgery and then only if I believe they are needed.  If you do decide to use the silicon tapes Mepitac is by far the best brand.
