I have cystic acne. If I get laser treatment for them will it prevent full blown acne from my skin permanently?

Never had acne in my life but after I gave birth I started to get cystic acne all over my cheeks . Topical medication is not working . Now I also have acne scars. Does laser give permanent results from acne all over face ? Will acne come back other parts of face ?

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

Laser resurfacing can help improve acne scars, as can other treatments such as microneedling.  Certain IPL and blue light treatments can reduce active acne.  In general, however, a medication regimen is necessary to substantially reduce acne.  I would recommend you consult with a dermatologist to get the acne controlled prior to considering any laser treatments.

Certain laser treatments can help with both active acne and the scars.  However they won't eliminate the active component completely - especially if it is cystic.  You need to see a dermatologist about more aggressive topical and or oral treatments.  Do this soon as the cystic scarring can be very difficult to treat.

Best thing to do first is get your acne under control.  Accutane is the closest option to a "cure" for acne.  It is typically an aggressive 6 month treatment.  You have to be closely monitored by a Dermatologist.  After your cystic acne is under control then laser treatments are good for you.  Sciton's Halo Laser is a great resurfacing and collagen stimulating.

Hello makeupmida1,The best treatment for cystic acne is Accutane (isotretinoin).  However, this is an aggressive treatment that requires monitoring.  There are many acne treatments out there to help improve the acne, others to help improve the scars.  The key is to prevent teh scars in the first place with appropriate treatment.  Once the scars develop, they can be improved with various techniques including lasers, but prevention is best.I'd recommend you consult with a dermatologist for the acne and a facial palstic surgeon to help improve the scarring that you have.I hope this helps and good luck.

Hi there and congrats on the new baby! The Fotana laser system is a sophisticated machine that combines the Nd:YAG (YAG laser) and ER:YAG (erbium laser) to effectively treat various forms of acne. The thermal effects of these two lasers produce disinfecting properties to the cysts and surrounding tissues, while the erbium laser micro punctures the hole, causing immediate drainage of the pus-filled cyst. The Er:YAG targets the drained area to assist in coagulating the tissue and efficiently disinfecting the newly treated area to prevent re-occurrence. Although there is a no guarantee that your acne will be eliminated completely, the combination of these two lasers do however provide a remedy that can produce long lasting results.
