Will cutting lip frenulum help with more teeth show? (Photos)

Question

I have what I think is a lip tie, I’d like to see if I’m correct about this, I’ve added some pictures. I’ve always felt some restriction above my upper lip where the frenulum is, and it makes me not be able to show much teeth when I smile and talk. Will cutting my frenulum help with less restricted movements and help to show more teeth or will I need a lip lift for this? I already have full lips so am wary about a lip lift.

Hi there. You have a low labial frenulum, aka lip tie. Releasing the lip tie on its own won't help with tooth show. A lip lift can help you increase the tooth display but It's not possible to say from the pictures whether you are a good candidate on not. If you however undergo a lip lift then you may benefit from a lip tie release at the same time. This will allow more freedom in lifting and everting your upper lip and eventually increase your tooth show. I hope this helps.
