I will land in Colombia 48 hours before surgery, they suggested being there 72 hrs before due to altitude. Is that a problem?

This question is best answered by your plastic surgeon as she/he will be the one to decide if it is safe for you to proceed with surgery. I encourage you to also have a plan in place in case of any complications after surgery since you will be far from your surgeon.

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

First and foremost I recommend patients not travel long distances for elective surgical procedures. Patients do not seem to appreciate the importance of having multiple in person consultations well in advance of having surgery, the number of people who have serious concerns or need postoperative care, the complications actually happen or the number of people who end up needing revisions.

Most people travel to save money but in the end most people get what they pay for and sometimes traveling to a less developed country for medical care and stop being a very very expensive endeavor.

Make sure your Health insurance has you covered in other countries.

Specific questions regarding your procedure and pre-operative instructions and care should be directed to your provider.

Posting on real self is a poor substitute for follow up visits.
