I had a lipo in 2020 on my outer/inner thighs, flanks and knees. It looked great. I have since gained about 12 pounds. I am 127lb and 46 years old. I am considering liposuction again on my outer thighs and flanks as i want to look like I looked before gaining weight Thus, this is not a revision lipo. I just want to remove additional pockets of fat after gaining weight. But, since this is my 2nd lipo, would the process be more complicated? Would surgeons use that as an excuse to charge me more?
Answer: Charges The fees will probably be the same since liposuction is usually charged by the number of locations done. If you are doing awake liposuction, there may be more discomfort during the numbing phase since scar tissue is present in the areas being treated.

Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear Questionqueen76, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Secondary liposuction increases risks Hello, thank you for your question. After a liposuction, your body creates a tissue called fibrosis in the treated areas. Most of the time that fibrosis is not visible. But when another liposuction is to be performed in the same area, the results are not as well controlled as in a primary procedure; this is because the fibrotic tissue is harder, it demands more physical effort from the surgeon, it bleeds more, gets more swelling and the latter lasts more than the first liposuction. Thats the reason why primary procedures maintenance is so important.

Answer: Secondary Liposuction Secondary Liposuction is a little bit more technically difficult and often does not deliver as much of an improvement as the primary procedure. It seems like weight loss is probably your best option. To get an assessment follow up with the provider who did your previous Liposuction since you were happy with the outcome of that procedure or consider having a few in person consultations with other local board-certified plastic surgeons. Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than people believe so choosing sufficiently experienced and talented provider is key in not having a long-term problems from the outcome. Liposuction is permanent and irreversible. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Is secondary liposuction more difficult / complicated / costly? Hi and welcome to our forum!A follow-up liposuction will not be any more complicated than the first procedure, especially if different areas are to be treated. If the previously treated areas are to be retreated, it may be slightly more difficult for the surgeon as there may be soft tissue scar deposition under the skin. This shouldn't translate to a higher cost!Best wishes...
