Hello and thank-you for your question.Based on the information that you provided in your question, you certainly woud benefit from a breast reduction. You will need to be cleared for surgery by a cardiologist to ensure that the procedure can be performed safely. I would suggest an in person consultation with a Board Certified Plastic surgeon to discuss your options.Best regards, Andrew Lyos MD, FACS,
Hi, LoriSuzanne. At a 38H, you sound like an excellent candidate for a breast reduction -- I can only imagine that you have significant symptoms and discomfort as a result of your breast size. Since it has been 9 years since your apparently notable cardiac event, it would be important to follow up with your cardiologist to assess your heart's current function and state of health. The stents that you had placed hopefully improved your hearts vascular supply -- however, whether the stents are still patent or not would be important to know. Also, have you developed any new blockages? Did your heart heal/recover following the MI? etc.Fortunately, although a breast reduction is a moderately large surgery, it is not a particularly invasive surgery -- breast surgery is essentially a "skin surgery" or soft tissue surgery. The more problematic risks generally have to do with the local circulation to the tissues and nipple, as well as general healing of the incisions, rather than a systemic risk to the body.Best of luck to you should you decide to proceed with a breast reduction! Possibly, but this can only be determined after a thorough evaluation by your cardiologist. Best wishes.
Assuming you are asymptomatic from heart disease now, you are probably a much better candidate for the surgery now than you were 10 years ago. As long as your cardiologist clears you for the surgery there should be no problem.
Breast reduction usually takes 3-6 months to fully heal. Swelling and bruising may still be persistent for a few months but will resolve on their own. You are still recovering and what you are seeing is not your final results yet. Keep in touch with your surgeon and follow his instructions to...
You did the right thing going back to your original plastic surgeon before seeking other opinions. The biggest issue here is that you had a medical breast reduction through your insurance company. While plastic surgeons always strive to have the best cosmetic...
It hard to comment on the results of your breast reduction from the photos you have posted and not knowing what they were like before, but you do seem to have a satisfactory result. You unfortunately seem to have developed hypertrophic or thickened scars. I do notice this from time to time in m...
