I am relatively young and I am interested in a more defined neck and jawline. I do not have any excess fat in the neck, nor do I have excess skin, so I imagine that the neck muscles would receive attention. Can perhaps tightening the platysma muscle make much of a difference for me? Or does my neck anatomy mean there's not much I can do..?
Answer: What you should know about chin augmentation Thank you for your question and photo. You may benefit most from chin augmentation to create a more defined neck and jawline appearance. By inserting a customized chin implant that is balanced with the rest of your facial features, the side profile can be improved and the neck skin tightened to provide a striking, well-defined contour. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to better assess your concerns and situation prior to making the best suggestion for helping you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Answer: Anterior necklift Thank you for your question and sharing your photograph. You are right in saying that there is no excess fatty tissue under the skin and no excess skin. There is however some further tissue under the practice, and it combines the volume of the digastric muscles and the lower part of the submandibular glands to reduce the definition of the jawline and neck An anterior necklift accesses the deep plane under the platysma and allows reduction of the volume which creates more definition for the jawline and the impression that the chin is more prominent. It involves a scar approximately 3 cm long situated under the chin but does not require any skin tightening and therefore there are no scars around the ears.

Answer: Neck lift and chin augmentation Based on this photo, you have retruded chin and low positioned hyoid bone. This together creates appearance of obtuse neck angle. Chin augmentation with implant and reshaping of neck muscles by means of platysmoplasty, deep muscles/fat trimming, would create quite an improvement. In person consultation with a bpoard certified plastic surgeon with experience in this type of surgery, is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Jawline Definition / Jawline Enhancement / Facial Sculpting / Facial Contouring -- injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Would a neck lift work for me despite the lack of fat? You may have more fat under that chin than you think. There are two layers of fat, superficial and deep. The superficial fat is under the skin and deep fat is under a broad fan-shaped muscle called platysma. You may have some limitations in the anatomy as position of the hyoid (horse-shoe bone that sits under the tongue) and chin distance determines the angle between neck and jawline. You may benefit from conservative liposuction and a chin implant that could give you more jaw definition.
