I don't have the best health insurance, so im not able to undergo any type of surgery. Are there any exercises that can be recommended for strengthening eye muscles? Opening the smaller eye? As i got older my eyes have progressively got worse with size. I didnt always look like this... it makes me so insecure. help, please!
Answer: No exercise works for improving eyelid ptosis Unfortunately there is no exercises to streghten the muscle responsible for lifting the upper eyelids. The only effective solution is surgery to shorten or tighten the muscle. That is called eyelid ptosis surgery, which can be done under local anesthesia in the office.

Answer: People who do not know eyelids probably should not put in their 2 cents. You have visually significant upper eyelid ptosis. You might consider seeing other oculoplastic surgeons in your area or get a referral through your heal plan for a surgeon who does accept your health insurance. This is a problem that should be covered under almost any health insurance plans. You might encounter surgeons who participate in your health insurance but are reluctant to agree to accept your coverage because they stand to make more money if they can convince you to self-pay. Talk with your health plan administrator and have them find an oculoplastic surgeon in their system who is willing to honestly assess you. If you presented to my Los Angeles County Hospital clinic complaining of ptosis and you were a Los Angeles County resident, we would offer surgery regardless of your ability to pay because you are visually impaired by your issue. Please stand up for your rights under your health insurance. Finally, no, there are no exercises that will improve the situation. You need a work up to determine the basis for this acquired ptosis and if appropriate, surgery to fix it.

Answer: No known exercises to correct asymmetrical eyelids. I see the asymmetry talking about but in my estimation it's quite modest. Surgery would be a possibility but I would think carefully before pursuing that route. To my knowledge there no exercises that will influence the position of the upper lids or the lower lids.

Answer: Eye Muscle Exercises Unfortunately, there are no eyelid muscle exercises to correct the asymmetry of your lids. It looks like you have ptosis or a droopy eyelid. Surgery is usually the only thing that will correct the problem. Often, special tests can be done in the office to determine how much the droopy eyelid is interfering with vision. Because there are several ways to fix a droopy eyelid (sometimes incisions can be hidden on the back of the eyelid), an in office consultation is necessary to plan your procedure. I recommend for you to make an appointment with an oculoplastic surgeon to start planning your ptosis repair. Best of luck!
