Cost of Only Nasal Reduction?

Question

I am looking to do a nostril reduction and I am finding that the cost in upstate NY seems to be quite expensive for what this procedure would usually cost elsewhere. I have found that on this site the average cost is between $2000-$3500. I was recently quoted $5,500, which includes the anesthesia fee $590 and operating room fee $850. Is that too expensive for what I am asking for? Both the Dr. and I agree that my bridge and side profile are fine. No changes needed there.

the cost of an Alar platy would range between$2,000 and 3000 dollars. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, however it is still performed in operating room, not the clinic. It is best find a surgeon with extensive experience in rhinoplasty to get it done right the first time.

I think the best idea like someone else wrote is find the doctor who can do a good job. THis is your nose and you want to get the best chance at a great result the first time.. not the second or third.

May I recommend you shop first for the doctor you feel is most qualified to do your surgery, THEN the cost.  After you've found two or three you like, pick the one that is most affordable. Your rhinoplasty, or any cosmetic procedure for that matter is not a comodity.

If the only procedure that you need is a nostril reduction (either Weir excisions or a nostril sill excision) then the price you have been quoted would seem to be reasonable.

The quote you have received is not unreasonable. You can consult with other surgeons, but select an experienced specialist. If a revision is necessary because it is not well done the final cost will be a lot more.

If you are only narrowing the nostril size, this can be done in the office with local anesthesia. Cost should be less than $2000. If you require a full tip rhinoplasty , it can cost double since an out patient center and more significant anesthesia  may be required. Hope that helps.
