I think that a 5 liter liposuction of the abdomen, sides, and back with large volume BBL could produce a dramatic difference in your appearance. The tummy tuck could be performed secondarily. Find a BBL expert who performs hundreds of BBLs each year and has great reviews and great before and after pictures.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Yo are asking whether you should get a tummy tuck or a brazilian butt lift. These two procedures are not interchangeable so I am unclear what you are asking. A Brazilian Butt Lift will make your butt bigger, but will not make you stomach that much smaller (even if significant amount of liposuction is performed on your stomach). If you desire a flatter stomach, than a tummy tuck (or Tummy Tuck equivalent) is what you need. The answer to your questions depends on what you want more - a bigger butt or a flatter stomach? You cannot get both with a single procedure.
Depending on your age and health status, you might be a candidate for large volume lipo suction and fat transplantation to the buttock as a first operation. Then, depending on how your stomach and waist skin tightens up, you may or may not require Abdominoplasty. This depends on whether you have had children and how elastic the skin is of the abdomen . I have attached a website for your review.Best regards, Dr. DelVecchio
Best opinion - is weight loss off 50 pounds FIRST! You have a large amount of visceral fat. Best to seek IN PERSON opinions..
It depends in your priorities. If you want to have both and want to use the fat from the belly to inject into the butt, then have the BBL first. However, you have fat in many other locations from which the fat can be harvested. Additionally , financial considerations must be taken into account. I see many patients who talk about multiple procedures until they have to deal with the bottom line. Let's face it-plastic surgery is wonderful but patients still want to go on vacation, pay their kids' tuition, improve or save for a home, etc. You really need the tummy tuck. If you have a BBL alone, you are still going to have a large, overhanging belly which just isn't attractive. You should be at a weight with which you are comfortable before either of these surgeries. Best wishes.
Well first, I think you need to lose weight and get to a weight that you are comfortable at. A BBL can be performed with fat harvested from other areas, and then a tummy tuck can be done. I prefer to stage them for safety reasons.
If both your tummy and your buttock bother you, why not have both procedures at the same time. Use the fat from your tummy to augment your buttock, and perform the TT at the same surgical procedure. If you are planning just one first, then I would recommend doing the BBL, and using the fat from your tummy to augment your buttock. You can come back later and do the TT.
Dear Elizabeth,The two entities you are trying to choose from are incomparable. You can still get a Tummy Tuck and a BBL at the same time or get either of them separately. None of them will replace the other or give a similar result. If you tummy muscles are relaxed then you will need a tummy tuck to get it straight again. The fat removed from that area can be injected into you butts to get a BBL.Best,Shady Hayek, M.D.Beirut, Lebanon
Which operation you choose depends on what you want to accomplish. If it is to have a smaller stomach, and abdominoplasty or even liposuction are likely to improve that area. I would probably suggest liposuction if you have good skin elasticity, If it is to have a larger derriere, than fat injections to the buttocks would improve that area. An alternative choice would be to have liposuction and inject the fat into your buttocks, which would do both.
Florida is the only state that has specific limitations on fat removal if not done in an accredited surgery center. There are however safe limits that should be discussed with you prior to surgery.
Yes, it is very normal. It looks as if you are healing very well, swelling after tummy tuck can take up to a year and yes, you retain more fluids and may feel more swollen as the day goes by and during your periods. Be patient, you are doing great.
It sounds as though your surgeon wants you to remove the drain, Presumably he has not seen you. If you are putting out 1200 cc of fluid through your drain, something is not right. See your surgeon and do not remove your drain.
This soon after surgery you should check with your surgeon before changing any medicines you take. S/he will probably give you permission to start the melatonin again.
Sometimes when areas of skin get stressed like after surgery, their pigment can change color. Any healing and scarring (which is concentrated around the belly button after a tummy tuck) can go through color changes but should lighten with time. Just give it a few more months and then...
Everyone does things differently. I use one drain and remove it earlier than most but I also use quilting sutures on the skin flap. But drains should not be left in longer than about 2 weeks. I have seen patients whose drains themselves are irritating and cause massive fluid output.
