Thank you for the question- the Palomar Icon is an IPL system (intense pulsed light). It is good for telangiectasias, brown spots, and hair removal in most patients. Your skin type is best treated with the 1064 Nd:YAG laser for hair removal or the diode laser (used at conservative settings). You can get scarring and discoloration from the Icon IPL, or if used at a very low setting it will not be effective. Best, Dr. Linnell
Unfortunately no, it is not safe for your skin type. It can cause burns and hypopigmentation.Thank you for your question!
