 Seems to me that you re-generated the fat around the nerve called the Myein sheath. If you hadn't you wouldn't have the return of nerve function.  I would not just pushing your doctor to do what they feel is inappropriate.  Two doctors, two opinions. That happens. I think it's important to be careful with injecting this medication in the vicinity of the mandibular branch of the facial nerve in order to minimize the chance of a repeat neurapraxia.  Personally I'm not a big fan of these treatments because of the unpredictable results, excessive swelling and inflammation as well as nerve problems as you've described.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
