I have read about these DHT blocking shampoos that claim they reduce DHT or protect your follicles from being effected by DHT. Do these shampoos really work? Are there any specific kinds of shampoo that are recommended for a receding hair line and thinning frontal hair?

Because they work from the outside in, the follicular receptors are not getting the maximum amount of benefit from the shampoo. Your biggest enemy is the progressive thinning leading to a balding pattern that may not evident at this point in time. The degree of thinning that you are experiencing would suggest that you should see a doctor who most likely will get Bulk Measurements of your hair to determine the degree of the thinning that you may be presently having.
